  perhapsthebestofJasmin’spoems。Inhisnotetothetranslation,Longfellowsaidthat”Jasmin,theauthorofthisbeautifulpoem,istotheSouthofFrancewhatBurnsistotheSouthofScotland,therepresentativeoftheheartofthepeople;
