Thefactofthisthoroughexploration，andtheestablishmentoftheEgyptiangovernment，nowaffordafirmbaseforallfuturetravellers。
Thegoodworkofonemancanbecarriedonbyhissuccessor。FormerlyitwasimpossibletorenderthenecessarysupporttoanexplorerinCentralAfrica。AdistantcountrycannotplungeintowarwithasavagepotentateoftheequatorialNileBasinbecausehehaseithercapturedanexplorerordevouredamissionary。
