  Ontheeveningofthesameday,theexecutionerSamson,shockedattheterribledeedwhichhehaddone,wenttoapriest,paidformassestobesaidforthereposeoftheking,thenlaiddownhisoffice,retiredintosolitude,anddiedinsixmonths。Hissonwashissuccessorinhisghostlyoffice,and,inapiousmanner,hecontinuedwhathisfatherbegan。Themassesfortheking,institutedbythetwoSamsons,continuedtobereadtilltheyear1840。
