  ThiswishwaslevelledprincipallyatJulia,whohadjustappliedforpermissiontogototownwithMaria;

  andasSirThomasthoughtitbestforeachdaughterthatthepermissionshouldbegranted,LadyBertram,thoughinherowngood-natureshewouldnothavepreventedit,waslamentingthechangeitmadeintheprospectofJulia’sreturn,whichwouldotherwisehavetakenplaceaboutthistime。

  AgreatdealofgoodsensefollowedonSirThomas’sside,tendingtoreconcilehiswifetothearrangement。

  Thenshebegantoblameherself。Shewishedshehadnotspokensowarmlyintheirlastconversation。Shewasafraidshehadusedsomestrong,somecontemptuousexpressionsinspeakingoftheclergy,andthatshouldnothavebeen。

  Itwasill-bred;itwaswrong。Shewishedsuchwordsunsaidwithallherheart。
