  Accordingly,theydescendedthehillslowlytogether,lingeringtospinouttheselastmileslong。Manyrideshadtaughttheirhorsestogosidebyside,andsotheywentnow:thegirlsweetandthoughtfulinhersedategrayhabit;andthemaninhisleathernchapsandcartridgebeltandflannelshirt,lookinggravelyintothedistancewiththelevelgazeofthefrontier。
