  “Iwasinformed,“Dr。MacBrideheldtherestofus,“beforeundertakingmyjourneythatIshouldfindadesolateandmainlygodlesscountry。ButnobodygavemetounderstandthatfromMedicineBowIwastodrivethreehundredmilesandpassnochurchofanyfaith。“

  Thismostefficientlydidbreakupthediscourse。Asourlittleparty,withthesmilesandthepoliteholdingsbackofnewacquaintanceship,movedintothehouse,theJudgedetainedmebehindallofthemlongenoughtowhisperdolorously,“He’sgoingtostayawholeweek。“
