Nosuchimportationofnoveltiescouldenrichtheirintellectualstoresatpresent。Inthedailyinterchangeofnews,theymustbeagainrestrictedtotheothertopicswithwhichforawhiletheSucklings’
cominghadbeenunited,suchasthelastaccountsofMrs。Churchill,whosehealthseemedeverydaytosupplyadifferentreport,andthesituationofMrs。Weston,whosehappinessitwastobehopedmighteventuallybeasmuchincreasedbythearrivalofachild,asthatofallherneighbourswasbytheapproachofit。
Mrs。Eltonwasverymuchdisappointed。Itwasthedelayofagreatdealofpleasureandparade。Herintroductionsandrecommendationsmustallwait,andeveryprojectedpartybestillonlytalkedof。
Soshethoughtatfirst;——butalittleconsiderationconvincedherthateverythingneednotbeputoff。WhyshouldnottheyexploretoBoxHillthoughtheSucklingsdidnotcome?Theycouldgothereagainwiththemintheautumn。ItwassettledthattheyshouldgotoBoxHill。Thattherewastobesuchapartyhadbeenlonggenerallyknown:ithadevengiventheideaofanother。
