  regretthatyouwerenotatmysidetoturnmefromthispath!Itisnowtoolate。Thepassionswillnotbrookdelay。Theyareimpatient,anddemandtheirpreywithcriesandwiththeconvulsiveeagernessofafiercemoralthirst。Ihavesuccumbed。Icannotforgetwhatyousooftensaidtome,thatangermaybecalledtheworstofthepassions,since,suddenlytransformingthecharacter,itengendersalltheothers,andlendstoeachitsowninfernalfire。
