  Thissaid,theknightfirstwiththewitchunchasteHisidlelovesandfolliesvainlamented;

  Thenkneelinglowwithheavylooksdowncast,Hisothersinsconfessedandallrepented,Andmeeklypardoncravedforfirstandlast。

  Thehermitwithhiszealwaswellcontented,Andsaid,“OnyonderhillnextmorngoprayThatturnshisforeheadgainstthemorningray。

  “Thatdone,marchtothewood,whenceeachonebringsSuchnewsoffuries,goblins,fiends,andsprites,Thegiants,monsters,andalldreadfulthingsThoushaltsubdue,whichthatdarkgroveunites:
