  Hugo,gettingthirstyafteralongwarble,drinksit,loseshiswits,andafteragooddealofclutchingandstamping,fallsflatanddies,whileHagarinformshimwhatshehasdoneinasongofexquisitepowerandmelody。

  Thiswasatrulythrillingscene,thoughsomepersonsmighthavethoughtthatthesuddentumblingdownofaquantityoflongredhairrathermarredtheeffectofthevillain’sdeath。Hewascalledbeforethecurtain,andwithgreatproprietyappeared,leadingHagar,whosesingingwasconsideredmorewonderfulthanalltherestoftheperformanceputtogether。
