  ItwasfromherthatIlearnedfirstthattheemperorwasmuchdisturbedatheartbecauseoftheseTeulesorSpaniards,forhewassuperstitious,andheldthemtobethechildrenofthegodQuetzal,whoaccordingtoancientprophecywouldcometotaketheland。

  Indeed,sograciouswasshe,andsoroyallylovely,thatforthefirsttimeIfeltmyheartstirredbyanyotherwomanthanmybetrothedwhomIhadleftfarawayinEngland,andwhom,asI
