Andersonvilleisoneofthefewstationsdignifiedwithasame,probablybecauseitcontainedsomehalfdozenofshabbyhouses,whereasattheotherstherewasusuallynothingmorethanamereopenshed,tosheltergoodsandtravelers。Itisonarudelyconstructed,ricketyrailroad,thatrunsfromMacontoAlbany,theheadofnavigationontheFlintRiver,whichis,onehundredandsixmilesfromMacon,andtwohundredandfiftyfromtheGulfofMexico。AndersonvilleisaboutsixtymilesfromMacon,and,consequently,aboutthreehundredmilesfromtheGulf。
